Nokia 801: The amazing everyday!

Since Nokia started the sale of Lumia-smartphones, the Finnish manufacturer advertises with colorful tiles in its promotional videos, a “cool music” and the slogan “The amazing everyday”. This, however, I’ve really missed since the previous models were nothing extraordinary.

Nokia N9 But since yesterday in the network are circulating two pictures that make me looking up: A new smartphone that looks like the Nokia N9 (MeeGo, see archive box ;) ), but with Symbian Belle? A dream comes true, if it’s true!

The operators of the site Smartphonegeeks.in got a promo picture and a “normal” photo of the Nokia 801, and some information about this. The Nokia 801 is powered by a 1.4 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. Android users would say to that specs: “Single-core? Only 512 MB RAM? Can only be nothing!”
False! The Nokia N8 has a 600 MHz processor, is three years old and runs a lot better than many Android smartphones with dual-core CPU.

Further, the front of the device is decorated with a keyless 4-inch AMOLED touch screen. There are no information about the resolution yet. 640×360 is obvious, since it makes no sense, to fragment the OS just before its end (blabla and so on…) more.

The camera is once again a piece of jewelry and better than the Full Focus-dung, which could be found in the Nokia 603, 700 and 701: Yes, AutoFocus :D 12-megapixel, dual-LED flash and HD- video recording (1080p). Unfortunately, the form didn’t allowed xenon flash, otherwise iPhone 4S owners can pack away their cameras very quickly. : P

Also cashless payments using NFC as naturally Bluetooth, WLAN and so on are on board.

Did I forget something? Yes. Supposedly the 801 shall be the last smartphone with Symbian (until I develop one ;) ). Whether to believe this, I do not know. Windows Phone 7 is currently far from great (more about that tomorrow) and a second thing could be very useful for Nokia, just in emergency. Before Samsung sells more bada-devices than Nokia in total ;)
