One Page Reader: Browser extension for news articles on one page

Du kannst diesen Eintrag auch auf Deutsch lesen!

After the huge success of my first Firefox Add-Ons, which simply removed the not so wonderful font family from the new BlaBlaCar website, it is time for my second browser extension: The One Page Reader.

One Page Reader

This extension addresses all page owners, especially huge German sites, that split their news articles into separate pages in times where we have scroll wheels and touchscreen with kinetic scrolling. I guess because with separate pages it is easier to track how far an article has been read (though this can be solved differently). Or simply to show more advertisments due to more page calls. However, it stops the reading flow that much for me, that I have decided to develop this extension.

One Page Reader solves it the following: If the website has a link to read the whole article on one page, this will be opened automatically (e.g. FAZ). If not, the extension loads all further pages in the background and appends the further text to the first page (z.B. Golem).

The following websites are supported:

  • FAZ.net
  • Golem.de
  • Heise.de
  • Sueddeutsche.de
  • Wiwo.de (Wirtschaftswoche)
  • Zeit.de
  • 11freunde.de

Like Readable for BlaBlaCar you can also find One Page Reader released with a GPL3.0 license on GitHub, so you can add further pages with pull requests 🙂

As well as the BlaBlaCar extension One Page Reader can be downloaded for Mozilla Firefox, this time there is also a release for Google Chrome.
